NATIONAL LEAGUE outfit, Leyton Orient, have confirmed the signing of midfielder Craig Clay on a free transfer from Scottish Premier League club, Motherwell.
Clay, who made 39 appearances for the Lanarkshire side last season, links up with the O’s on a two-year deal. Previously, the 25-year-old spent time with Chesterfield, York City, FC Halifax Town, Worksop Town and Grimsby Town as well as loan spells at Barrow AFC and Alfreton Town.
The Nottingham-born defender also represented England ‘C’ during his time at Grimsby. He could feature for his new club in their pre-season friendly at Essex Senior League Burnham Ramblers on Tuesday evening.
