By Liz Wade in Events

IF you are not sure what to do today – Sunday, February 12 – then why not go to one of these events?

Snowdrop Sundays at The Gibberd Garden, Harlow:

Visit The Gibberd Garden, in Marsh Lane, Gilden Way, Harlow, today from 11.30am to 4pm, and see the carpet of snowdrops in the garden’s wooded areas.

The gardens do not officially open for the 2017 season until April 1, so the event will be a rare opportunity to pop in for a visit.

Do not forget your wellies and make the most of your visit by enjoying homemade soup and crusty bread, as well as hot drinks and cakes.

Entrance will be £4 for adults, £3 for concessions, £1 for children aged five to 16, and free for children under five.

Valentine Crafts Drops In Day at Belfairs Woodland Centre, Leigh-on-Sea:

Call into Belfairs Woodland Centre, in Eastwood Road North, from 10am to 3pm today, and enjoy some Valentine crafts.

The event, which is free to visit with a small charge per craft, will offer fun for the whole family, so drop in and make a Valentine gift or a heart related craft.

Crafts will be available for all ages and no booking is required.

Cats Protection Cat Homing Show, Benfleet:

Rayleigh Cats Protection group will be hosting a cat homing show at WRVS Hall, in Richmond Avenue, Benfleet, today from 11am to 1.30pm.

There will be a number of cats at the show, all looking for a new home, and all in good health, microchipped, vaccinated and, dependent on their age, neutered.

Even if you are not ready to take on a new cat, why not go along along and see how the homing show works? As well as many lovely cats and older kittens looking for homes, there will also be tables selling a wide range of cat and dog goods plus Cats Protection gifts and novelty cat items, unique to the branch.

While admission to the event is free, donations will be welcome.

Made With Love Craft Fair and Artist’s Open Studios at Valentines Mansion, Ilford:

Head to Valentines Mansion and Gardens, in Emerson Road, Ilford, today from 10am to 4pm and visit its Made With Love Craft Fair. The fair, which is free to visit, will be offering a range of unique handmade crafts, from homeware and jewellery, to artisan food and drink, and gorgeous gifts for loved ones.

The event will also give you the chance to visit the top floor of the mansion and meet its talented studio artists and see them working on amazing creations.

Fossils Galore at The Naze Education and Visitor Centre, Walton-on-the-Naze:

Call into The Naze Education and Visitor Centre, in Old Hall Lane, today from 10am to 4pm and enjoy its Fossils Galore event.

Take along any fossils you have found, to have them identified, and look at fossils from the local area and further afield.

There will also be a range of prehistoric activities to take part in, for just £3 each, and the skull of Stompy the woolly rhinoceros will also be on display.
